Automation Project and Equipment Distribution and Layout

Platform statistics: The Lun-A platform is designed for year-round operation in harsh climatic conditions and is built to withstand rough seas, ice and high seismic activity. Located 15 km off the north eastern coast of Sakhalin Island, in a water depth of 48 m. The height is 174.5 m, that is higher than the great pyramid of Cheops. Four legged concrete gravity base substructure (CGBS) that was engineered and constructed in Vostochniy port by Aker Kvaerner Technology AS and Quattrogemini OY. PA-B CGBS was installed in June 2005. Fully integrated deck construction built separately in South Korea, Samsung Heavy Industries construction yard. The topsides were installed in August 2006 on the pre-installed CGBS by float over technique. The platform includes drilling and gas/hydrocarbon liquids/water separation facilities, storage for chemicals. The living quarters have a capacity for 100 permanent and additional 36 temporary staff. Production capacity: gas – 51 mln m3/d condensate about 50,000 b/d (8,000 m3/d).

HEAVY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MIDLAND TEXAS

Tenaris is a leading supplier of tubes and related services for the world’s energy industry and certain other industrial applications. Our mission is to deliver value to our customers through product development, manufacturing excellence, and supply chain management. Tenaris employees around the world are committed to continuous improvement by sharing knowledge across a single global organization.

Automation and Equipment CEMS installation and commissioning

The ExxonMobil Energy Center consists of two opposing buildings with 60-foot cantilevered sections that support a three-level cube structure that is itself cantilevered 60 feet in two directions. The cube structure includes an inner oculus and sits on eight pot bearings that allow for both rotational movement and north-south expansion. Framing included built-up box members up to five inches thick, with mill-to-bear, CJP-welded connections.

GoM workover - Drilling / production and refining

Fixed platforms The first fixed platforms were installed in the GoM in 1947, and by 1978 the first installations in water depth greater than 400 ft occurred at Bourbon in MC 311 in 428 ft water depth and Cognac in MC 194 in 1,023 ft water depth. Almost all of the deepwater fixed platforms were installed to drill and complete wells from platform rigs with full oil and gas processing capacity, and typically contain a dozen or more dry tree wells. Later, fixed platforms also served as host for subsea (wet) wells and as pipeline junctions.

Project phases and gates

LIn all projects, the primary challenges are: Pressure to freeze the design early to meet the schedule Requirement for an integrated Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) with all components Automation commissioning activities are on the critical path Time between delivery and hand over is a lost opportunity for managing changes as the process design matures The overriding challenge is the late availability of high quality design information, which results in multiple submissions of low quality information in order to meet contractual milestones. Risk management in order to improve capital efficiency. Eliminating all dependencies between application software engineering and hardware engineering allows flexible binding virtually any time during the project. Not only does this enable risk management, it substantially increases the project team’s productivity.

combine gas and coal gas turbines TVA project

The NOx Budget Trading Program (NBP) was a cap and trade program created to reduce the regional transport of NOx emissions from power plants and other large combustion sources in the eastern United States. The NBP began in 2003 and was designed to reduce NOx emissions during the warm summer months, referred to as the ozone season, when ground-level ozone concentrations are highest. The program was a central component of the NOx SIP (State Implementation Plan) Call, promulgated in 1998. As a part of the team my involvement was the prestesting and adjustment as a combustion engineer to adjust parameters to directed lead and perform testing and evaluation
